About Us

North Woods Bees is a small local apiary secluded in the woods in northern Michigan.  The apiary is run by Kevin and Kendall Janka, and has been active since 2016.  In 2019, we built a shelter (we affectionately call it just "the Bee House") to help protect them from our harsh Michigan winters, and since then the colonies have been stronger than ever.  While in the past years, we've had enough honey to give away to friends and family, in 2021 we opened our online store to offer local honey to folks nearby.
